Introduction:

This workshop will begin with a description of how all tests can be evaluated.  Next the kinds of changes that make testing meaningful for individuals with disabilities will be described.  Such changes typically involve what are called adaptations and accommodations.  Some of these will be portrayed.  The evidence for the validation of such adaptations will be mentioned as will some of the policy issues that occur in the assessment and use of measures with individuals with disabilities.  Organized group discussion of case studies will be provided so that audience participation will be involved.

About the Presenter

Prof. Kurt F. Geisinger is the director of the Buros Center for Testing and Meierhenry Distinguished University Professor at the University of Nebraska. Previously, he served as psychology professor at Fordham University, Dean of Arts and Sciences at the State University of New York at Oswego, and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Le Moyne College and the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX.
