Introduction

The evidence based practice (EBP) movement has always been about managing scarce resources wisely,  allocating them only for services of demonstrable worth.  Established first in medicine, EBP also became the standard of care in nursing, psychology, social work and public health. Parallel trends now are emerging in sectors beyond health, such as education and public policy. Prof Spring’s workshop, entitled “Interdisciplinary Evidence Based Practice: How to Accomplish It” deploys case materials and simulations to demonstrate how to implement the 5 stages of the EBP process. New frameworks for translating EBP to interventions with children will be noted.
